Bour-bon (noun) - Magic brown water for fun people.

We routed our fall trip through Kentucky to stock up on brown water for Mark, my favorite bourbon guy.

This is our 4th trip to tour the Bourbon Trail and we found some great distilleries that we hadn’t visited and revisited a couple. We arrived on Monday and have spent three days tasting. Our favorite from this trip was definitely Willett.

However, one small craft distillery called Log Still was really good. We also visited Heavens Hill (the only place we didn’t purchase because their bourbon is widely distributed), Lux Row, Bluegrass, James E Pepper and Town Branch.

We are staying at the old Kentucky Home  State Park in Bardstown. It is a small campground surrounded by a beautiful golf course and “the” old Kentucky Home.

For RVers reading this - the pro’s: located two minutes from distilleries and downtown and has lovely trees. Ok that’s it. For the con’s - the spaces are very small (very challenging for big rigs) and not close to level. Only 30 amp and we had to borrow an extension cord to reach the power box. The bathhouse is old and not clean. And I can’t tell you how many golfers teed off and the ball hit the trees around us. I kept wondering if I was going to get a concussion or broken window!

Our Alliance Paradigm has given us a few headaches to begin our trip and we hope it is the end of problems. The trim fell off the dining room slide, the fireplace glass has detached from one side and the fireplace plastic slide has broken loose. It is going in for a new roof when we get back so looks like there will be a series of repairs needed. Luckily, we have a great dealership.
